I just arrived at home from a great drive starting in Allgaeu. There I picked up the car of my leaserand the way back was... strange! The yellow skoda pickup with a 30 liter tank, sporadically working heating and space that I would define as lean for a 1,92 m tall human is covered with snow as it has been at that place for minimum one year. The lock seemed to be frozen but after getting some de-icer from the gas-station i recognized that the to keys i have are not the same. Should have tried, eh?
So what, after some amount of time spent with sweep snow and scratch ice from the outside and running the engine (if only to test if it's working) departure time has come. Let's go... first impression: Wow, the heating is not working. Nearly 90 minutes on the road to Munich with feets already frozen? Great expectations! Shortly after a traffice sign "Munich 135km" a friend called my on my phone but we had to break conversion because of the noise inside the car. I drive on and as the radio is not working I use my mobile as lowfi entertainment station. After a time I sign shows me "Munich 128km". Nothing unusual for this if my past drive time wouldn't have been 30 minutes. In a serious way I ask myself where this gap of time and space appeared but I don't get it. Instead I check that I'm on the wrong highway A7 and I have to drive to Munich with passing Augsburg over the A8. Who knows this way will know what kind of extra way it is. ;) Fuck it! But at least the heating started to work after 20 km driving. A gleam of hope until the moment I recognized I lost my way.
Buto ok, nothing's not a problem. I press my foot on the throttle. A look to the just half filled fuel indicator. Short before reserve?! How much is this car using? 20 liter, 30? Pitstop. Faucet in, filling, filling, click, finished. What? 30 Euros for a full tank of high quality fuel? Hello engineers?! Ok, ok at least the tank is full. Back on the road, leafoot. Mist, light rain and road works can not lower my speed and so the motor truck half on my lane can't. And also not the suddenly not working heating. I'm getting closer to Munich and the snow on the front of the car is nearly melted what causes my front window not to be moisted any more by it. What causes the dirt from road not to be removed any more. And as to expect the water for the wipers is not working too. But fuck it on the last 20 km. At the arrival in Munich the massage bed moves from one side to the other in bends nearly kicking the car off the road and I miss all the exits to my city district. After searching for a parking place a medium amount of time I'm finished with being calm and balanced. But that's nothing two glasses of good Tullamore Dew (irish import!) can't fix and i'm relaxed enough to write down this post.
This was my evening. Good night!
